[* 5-14-10] not exactly the link is the TODAY SHOW, but see Elizabeth Warren. (Yes Congress is to blame, but not both parties nor all members equally.) (Remember there are three branches of government, and even though we are off kilter, it is not just a vote 'em out, but who you vote out and in.) [BTW: there is a difference between the bailout and the stimulus, but much of the former was under the Bush administration, where given Republican involvement was better than pulling a finger out of the dike and flooding the ditch.]

The Anti-Cheney

Thanks to Thom Hartmann and Ellen Ratner for giving me this lede for my earlier mention.
But seriously, the appointment of Elizabeth Warren to her new position is similar to Cheney being selected to select the vice-president for George Bush. Whether she could be confirmed or even wants the job, this may be a better placement, effectively and politically. This is heavily linked and only lightly read*, but I think that she will have the power to coordinate the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
